We are so grateful you could join us for such a special talk, Susy! Jose is truly making Ventura County proud
Started off the week at Ventura County Community Foundation listening to a wonderful person I met back in 2019 as he was serving on the homeless commission and came to Community Action of Ventura County for a tour of our services and to learn more. Last year he was part of the research that was being done on the youth in Oxnard and I saw him again this year as he stopped to visit CAVC. I was so excited to hear he was at the United Nations and everything he had been part of over the years. Surprisingly enough, I had never heard his full life story until this Monday. I had to thank him for his words of encouragement thru out the years (his “échale ganas” email when I was named executive director) and his thoughts and views he shared with the group. Coming from a person who grew up in Oxnard and truly looking for ways our youth can be successful, I’m thankful I was able to join this conversation.
