Continuing Medical Education Program (CME)

Continuing Medical Education (CME) provides doctors from Armenia and Artsakh with professional development to hone their skills, update their practices, and tap into a larger network of healthcare providers.

Since its start in 2005, CME has equipped health professionals in resource-poor communities of Armenia and Artsakh to better meet the challenges of diagnosing, treating and caring for their communities.

Through hands-on training, rural doctors learn invaluable new methods and skills in their chosen specializations, which they can then apply in their daily work when they return home. CME also enables them to tap into a greater network of healthcare providers with which they can continue to be connected following their stints in Yerevan.

In addition, through FAR’s national partner, the National Medical Library, CME participants can access online and offline tools and resources while in Yerevan, which help them to further expand their capacities to build a culture of health within their communities

“Through the CME program, I have advanced my knowledge and skills in the fields of general therapy, gastroenterology, cardiology, pediatrics and neurology.”

—Dr. Hayk Khacho, CME participant from Artsakh
