The Burr and Burton Performing Arts Department presents the hit musical the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, in the Riley Center on March 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 at 6:30pm. 

Join this lovable and eccentric group of adolescents as they compete in a spelling bee set in a fictional Putnam Valley. Together, with the quirky adults, everyone learns that winning is not everything. 

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, based on a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss.
  
First directed on Broadway in 2005 by James Lapine, this musical is the winner of two Tony awards, two Theatre World awards, three Drama Desk awards and two Lucille Lortel awards.  

Directed and choreographed by Jim Raposa, with vocal direction by Julie Freebern, music direction by Michael Garvey, set design by Paul Molinelli, costume design by Lauralee Van Ommen Kloeke, and sound design by Neil Freebern, the Performing Arts Department is excited to share the talents BBA students.
  
The cast features Ethan Bowen, Kaitlynn Cherry,  Montgomery Crane, Ayden Crispe, Jackson Cutler, Jesse Dykes, Lily Hutcheson, Madeline McGlinn, Siobhan O’Keefe, Annabel Pitcher, Julian Pirie, August Stauffer, and Isaac Vernon with John Catapano, Sadie Eggers, Gianna Faltskog, Joseph Masalsky, Claire Paxson and Ginger Ragaishis. Production Stage Manager Shae Muchler, Stage Managers Nikolina Van Ommen Kloeke, Annabel Pitcher, Dance Captain Sadie Eggers, and Musicians Lucas Arrington, Alex Cyr, and Edward Stauffer round out the production. 

The running time is one hour and 35 minutes; there is no intermission.
