A spring season to remember

That’s a wrap on another fantastic spring season, Charger athletes! The season concluded with several additions to the Charger trophy case and record books—including two TISAC Championships (track and field, and boy’s tennis) and two TISAC Players of the year (Bryan Fang ’23 for golf, Sam Lee ’24 for boys’ tennis). Five Chargers also earned all-state honors:

CA End-of-Athletics Award
Each year, CA recognizes student-athletes that demonstrate excellence both on and off the field. This year’s recipients include:
 
 
Charger Pride Award - Matthew Logel (22), Gabriella Ciciuto (22)
Awarded to the male and female athlete who demonstrates spirit, teamwork, perseverance, and fair play through their participation and support of our CA teams.  To be eligible, the athlete must participate in two varsity sports with three sports athletes strongly considered
 
Athletic Leadership Award - Janay Edwards (22), Adam Farris (22)
Awarded to the male and female Senior captain who has demonstrated the principles outlined in the Cary Academy Leadership Program while participating in athletics, the classroom, and the community.
 
TISAC Sportsmanship Award - Sebastian Polge (22), Jacqueline Johnson (22)
Awarded to the male and female athletes who modeled the ideals of sportsmanship throughout their participation in the TISAC conference.  To be eligible, the athlete must have competed in at least two varsity sports with three-season athletes strongly considered.
 
Scholar Athlete - Sydney Tai (22), Alex Lim (22)
The Scholar Athlete Award recognizes the male and female athlete who has demonstrated excellence in the classroom and on the athletic field.
 
Athlete of the YearJerry Fox (23), Charlotte Hook (22)
Awarded to the male and female athlete whose performance during the school year has been exemplary and whose attributes include but are not limited to leadership, sportsmanship and achievement in competition.
 
Lifetime Achievement AwardGabby Matejowsky (22), Cole Fekete (22)
Awarded to a senior male and female athlete who throughout their career at CA has contributed most to the CA interscholastic athletic program - to be eligible a student must have competed in at least TWO varsity sports.
